Desktop Product Redesign & Design System
A project for Motorista PX
Context
Motorista PX is a Brazilian freight platform. As the product grew, the interface became inconsistent and hard to maintain. The project unified the experience and introduced a scalable Design System.
- Role
- Product Designer
- Duration
- 6 months
- Skills
- UX Research, UI Design, Design System, Figma, Component Library, Usability Testing, Information Architecture, Front-end Development
Goals
Visual Consistency
Establish a consistent, scalable visual identity across products.
Usability Improvement
Simplify complex and fragmented user flows.
Design System
Create a documented Design System to support future product evolution.
Discovery & Audit
I kicked off with a thorough interface audit, mapping inconsistencies across layouts, hierarchy, and visual language. This was paired with user interviews that surfaced real pain points the team had not formally documented yet.
Design Foundation & Visual Language
With the research insights in hand, I defined the new visual language in Figma: typography, color tokens, spacing, and component guidelines. Every decision was made with scalability in mind, ensuring the system could grow alongside the product.
Design System & Component Library
The final phase focused on building and documenting a structured component library across atoms, molecules, and patterns. Close collaboration with developers ensured smooth handoff and adoption, setting a foundation for more consistent and efficient product iterations.

Lessons learned
This was my first Design System, including code. I learned that systems need governance, not just UI Kits, while gaining front-end experience with React, Next.js, Git, and Vercel.
Impact
Reduction in usability-related issues reported by users
Improvement in interface consistency across desktop screens
